Keep individual cats visible in the notes
In a multi-cat home, record who uses which place and what was actually observed. Sharing a room does not establish that the cats are comfortable sharing every resource. Keep uncertainty in the record when you did not see an interaction. Discuss concerns with the veterinary team rather than assigning personalities or a social hierarchy from one incident.
Make maintenance fit ordinary life
Identify which items need refilling, cleaning, replacement parts or inspection, and who will do that work. A spare clean bowl or an accessible replacement part can be more useful than an extra feature that nobody maintains. Keep the instructions with the exact equipment model. When someone else looks after the cat, give them the current routine and the veterinary contact information.
Change one part of the room with a clear purpose
Write down the reason for the change and the observations to make afterward. Avoid removing every familiar option simply to create a neat new arrangement.
